It presents opportunities in education, business, entertainment, health care\u00a0and sociability giving everyone the potential to be more productive, creative, efficient and connected for decades to come.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Question 3: Will it cost my customers\u00a0anything to switch to the nbn&#x2122; network?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A standard installation of nbn&#x2122; equipment will be available free of charge, which\u00a0includes\u00a0connecting\u00a0fibre optic cable from the\u00a0street to the nbn&#x2122; utility box on an outside wall of your customer&#8217;s home or business\u00a0and then to an nbn&#x2122; connection box (where applicable) located within your customer&#8217;s premises. If your customer would like to request that\u00a0the nbn&#x2122; utility box is installed in a specific location, they\u00a0can discuss this with the contractor working in their\u00a0area, however they\u00a0may incur a cost for this non-standard installation. The contractors will be able to provide your customer\u00a0with a free, no-obligation quote. A separate ACN nbn&#x2122; Plan Connection Fee of $49.00 will apply to connect to\u00a0ACN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Question 4: Can I keep my phone number if I switch to the nbn&#x2122; network?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes. &#8220;Number porting&#8221; rules will not change with the introduction of the nbn&#x2122; network. ACN offers the option of\u00a0number portability which will allow your customer\u00a0to keep their\u00a0existing phone number when they\u00a0transfer or the option of\u00a0selecting a new number.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Question 5: Do I need to switch to the nbn&#x2122; network?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your customer\u00a0lives in an area where nbn&#x2122; fibre is available, existing phone lines, ADSL internet and Telstra\/Optus cable\u00a0internet services will be disconnected and replaced by the nbn&#x2122;. When the\u00a0nbn&#x2122; network\u00a0fibre install is completed in your customer&#8217;s\u00a0area, nbn&#x2122; will notify them\u00a0by direct mail that the new network is\u00a0ready and advise of the date in\u00a0which the old network will be switched off.<\/p>\n<p>If your customer\u00a0doesn&#8217;t place an order for services over the nbn&#x2122; network before the disconnection date, they will\u00a0lose access to affected\u00a0internet and landline services.
