We want to keep you up to date with upcoming changes to the MATE Mobile plan range<\/strong> so you can clearly communicate them to your customers.<\/p>\n

From Wednesday, 3 September 2025<\/strong>, MATE plans will receive more data<\/strong>, bigger databanks on some plans, and 5G upgrades, along with some small price adjustments<\/strong> to ensure they remain competitive and continue delivering great value.<\/p>\n

  • Updated data inclusions<\/strong> for existing customers from 3 September.<\/li>\n
  • New pricing<\/strong> applying from each customer\u2019s next billing cycle.<\/li>\n
  • Notices for existing customers started going out last week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Plans being removed from the MATE Mobile offer<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    These plans will be grandfathered,<\/strong> removed from sale for new customers, but existing customers will automatically receive more data and the updated price from their next billing cycle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Other important changes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    From 1 September 2025<\/strong>, all payments made with a Visa or Mastercard will attract a 1% surcharge<\/strong>.
    \nFrom 25 August 2025<\/strong>, customers can switch to direct debit from a bank account<\/strong> via the myMATE app or Self-Care Portal to make surcharge-free payments<\/strong>.
    \n\u2705 Encourage your customers to set up direct debit for simple, fee-free payments.<\/p>\n

    Why the changes?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Increasing wholesale costs, consumer demand for higher speeds, rising data usage, and new government regulations have made these adjustments necessary. While MATE works hard to absorb costs where possible, a small retail price increase will help ensure customers continue to receive generous data inclusions, fast 5G speeds, and great Australian-based support<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    What this means for your conversations with customers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Highlight the extra data<\/strong>, 5G upgrades<\/strong>, and larger databanks<\/strong> on some plans.<\/li>\n
    • Position the plans as competitive, 5G-ready, and with generous databanks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Remind them about switching to direct debit<\/strong> to avoid the card surcharge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
