Will my Security Alarm work over the nbn™ with ACN?

Yes, your security alarm will work over the nbn™.

Many security alarms utilise a landline phone to call a central monitoring centre when your alarm is triggered. ACN recommends you contact your security alarm provider and clarify what internet or phone services on the nbn™ will be required to support your service. It is also important to verify if any in-premises wiring changes are required.

ACN’s nbn™ voice service is supplied over the ACN VoIP network and ACN cannot provide a voice service via UNI-D or UNI-V.

After you submit your application online for an nbn™ Service please ensure you contact ACN Customer Service to let us know you have a security alarm and what the requirements are that have been outlined by your provider. This will ensure we are able to arrange any additional in premise wiring to connect your security alarm to the nbn™.

It is important to understand that your security alarm system will not work if your nbn™service is down including:

  • ACN planned and unplanned outages
  • Power outages
  • Mass Service Disruptions
  • Your nbn™ Service is experiencing service difficulty (service fault)
  • Your nbn™ service has been credit managed due to non payment
