Vodafone nbn™ Terms and Conditions
Vodafone Instant Connect
Vodafone Instant Connect is a complimentary service that provides an interim internet connection using either the Vodafone 3G or 4G network in Vodafone Coverage Areas only. It is only available using the Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub™ with a Vodafone SIM on our network. Instant Connect is available from when you receive your Wi-Fi Hub until your nbn™ service is fully activated or for a period of 30 consecutive days (whichever occurs first). Speeds are throttled at a theoretical maximum of 12Mbps for downloads and 1Mbps for uploads. Service performance varies depending on network coverage and your location with speeds likely less than the maximum. Our Fair Use Policy applies, see our Fair Use Policy for details.
Vodafone 4G Backup
Vodafone 4G Backup is a complimentary service that provides an interim internet connection using either the Vodafone 3G or 4G network in Vodafone Coverage Areas only for confirmed local nbn™ faults. It is only available using the Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub™ with a Vodafone SIM on our network. 4G Backup will be automatically activated if you lose connection to Vodafone nbn™. This excludes mass nbn™ outages. You will be able to use the Backup service until the fault is resolved or for a period of 30 consecutive days (whichever occurs first). Service performance varies depending on network coverage and your location with speeds likely less than the maximum. Our Fair Use Policy applies, see our Fair Use Policy for details.
Speed
Internet speeds on this plan are variable and you will typically experience much slower speeds than the maximum connection speed available on your plan. For FTTB/N/C customers, if after connection your plan is not supported by the maximum attainable speed available then we will contact you with more information and provide other options. Typical Busy Speed: This is the typical busy period download speed that the average consumer can expect to receive between 7pm and 11pm. It is not a guaranteed minimum speed and you may experience lower speeds during this period. The actual speeds you experience will vary on a number of factors such as the nbn™ technology used to deliver your service, plan choice, location, internet traffic demand, our network, line condition, the number of devices connected to your network, modem type and positioning, Wi-Fi performance, in-building wiring, and the content you access. 30 Day Network Satisfaction Guarantee
If you’re a new customer and you’ve signed up to any new postpaid plan and you don’t love our network within the first 30 days of sign-up, or in the case of a Vodafone nbn™ plan within the first 30 days of service activation, you’re welcome to cancel by calling 1300551198 (excludes upgrades and rate plan changes). You will only have to pay for those services you’ve used or for charges incurred that are not included in your plan, and return device in original packaging with proof of purchase to a Vodafone (not dealer) store within 10 days of your claim. Where you have an individual plan, you can make one claim per year per person. Where you have multiple shared plans on your account, you can make one claim in relation to each plan, for up to 10 claims per account, per year per person. Accessories not refunded. Bundle & Save
Bundle & Save discounts are available to (a) new customers who connect two or more Eligible Plans on the same billing account; OR (b) existing customers with an Eligible Plan who: add one or more eligible services to their billing account or who upgrade or switch an ineligible Plan to an Eligible Plan; OR (c) existing customers who have two Eligible Plans and upgrade or change one of those Eligible Plan to access the Bundle and Save discounts.
Eligible Plans are: All voice plans of $30 and above released on or after July 25 2018 (excluding Assured Plan, Business Flex and Business Advance Plans); All MBB Plans of $30 and above released on or after June 26 2018;and all nbn™Plans (excluding the Essential nbn™Plan). Customers will receive a percentage discount off each Eligible Plan’s access fees (5% off two plans, 10% off three plans, 15% off four plans or 20% off five or more plans) when active on a single billing account. Note MPP, APP or Add-On fees are not discounted.
The Bundle & Save discount is calculated from the first full bill cycle and updated monthly as eligible services are added or removed. Any second service discounts are replaced by the applicable Bundle & Save discount. If early exit fees apply to an Eligible Plan they are calculated using the undiscounted amount x months remaining. Keep Your Phone Number
Vodafone Mobile Landline Service: Min monthly spend is $5. Recurring monthly access fee charged until the end of the month in which you cancel the service. Only available to customers who are connected to an eligible Vodafone Postpaid Voice Plan (‘Voice Plan’) or sign up to an eligible Vodafone nbn™ Plan. This Add-on does not come with a separate call allowance, it simply allows you to retain your existing fixed voice (or home phone number) service (‘FVN’) and supports unlimited incoming calls redirected to a Postpaid Voice service on the same account. You will be charged for making outgoing calls via the Vodafone Network from your mobile at the rate set out in your Voice Plan details. Only your home phone number will be ported to Vodafone. Porting may result in loss of any services dependent on using the phone line associated with that number including broadband, line sharing services or call waiting. Please check with your existing provider about these additional services and whether you will be required to pay any costs upon your number being transferred. If your eligible voice plan is cancelled, this Add-on will also automatically cancel. Min monthly spend is prorated when Add-on is purchased or cancelled part way through the billing month for your eligible voice plan. Early exit fees
There are no Early Exit Fees on this plan, however, if you chose to cancel your plan before the end of the Device Period you will need to pay for the remaining Modem cost.
The Modem is $5 per month (‘Undiscounted Price’) or $0 per month (‘Discounted Price’) when you stay connected for 36 months (‘Device Period’). This Discounted Price will appear as a credit on your monthly bill. If you choose to cancel your plan before the end of the Device Period you
will need to pay the full Undiscounted Price x months remaining on Device Period. This remaining Modem cost will be applied as a lump sum on your final bill. For full terms and conditions see critical information summary.
