In a move designed to help Independent Business Owners maintain and grow their business, ACN introduced the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge on 22 September 2016. This pledge benefits all IBOs with active Vodafone customers and ensures IBOs will receive the associated customer points and residual income over the entirety of their customer’s original contract term – regardless of whether the customer opts to upgrade their service via a non-ACN channel.

To help you understand how the pledge will help you, here are answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge and why was it introduced?
The pledge is an ACN initiative which protects customer points and residual income throughout the customer’s original contract term. This was introduced to ensure IBOs continue to receive compensation if the customer chooses to upgrade their service via a non-ACN channel during the original contract term and to help IBOs grow their business.

What happened prior to the introduction of the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge?
Before 22 September, 2016, IBOs would have had their customer points purged and their residuals removed if a customer originally signed up to a Vodafone service via ACN and then decided to upgrade directly with Vodafone at some point during their contract term.

How does the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge help me?
From 22 September, 2016 if a customer signed up through an ACN Vodafone channel and then decided to upgrade directly via Vodafone (by either proactively contacting Vodafone or in response to a Vodafone marketing campaign) ACN will now honour the original residual and customer points allocation for the entirety of the customer’s original contract term.

What happens if a customer decides to cancel their service part way through their contract term – will I be able to keep the points and receive residuals?
No, the pledge only applies if the customer has an active service on the Vodafone network and decides to upgrade their plan via a non-ACN channel.

Can you give me a specific example of the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge in action?
Sure! If you signed a customer up in December 2015 to a 12 month SIM Only plan and then that customer decided to upgrade directly with Vodafone to a $90 24 month iPhone 7 in September 2016, you would keep the associated customer points and continue to receive associated residual income for the additional 4 months until December 2016 as long as the service remains active.

Terms of the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge

ACN may withdraw the Vodafone Residual Protection Pledge at any time upon providing notice (in the usual manner to IBOs) in relation to further sign ups.
